When Thad and I first moved into our house, most of the rooms just needed a new coat of paint and we were satisfied with them. The "barn room" was a different story. The previous owner transformed a perfectly good room into a barn for his kids. When we were touring the house for the first time, there were literally stuffed animals nailed to the walls (stuffing removed so it simulated animal skins)... freaky! Since we'd had someone staying in this room for the majority of the time we've lived here we never really went in there to remind us of how much we hated it. But now that Robbie moved out (and sorry to anyone else who was ever thinking of moving in with us, its never going to happen!) we really wanted to change it. When Robbie moved in, part of the agreement was that when he moved out, he would help take down all the wood, patch all the holes, and re-texture the walls. Since he does it for a living, he said it would be no problem.

It was more work than we were thinking it would be, but we're so happy with how it turned out! It's now our new exercise room (there was a huge bowflex in the middle of the room in all the pictures if you were wondering why I didnt just take an overview of the room). We did a lot of things we had never done before, such as hanging molding around the doors, installing baseboards, and putting in new outlets (electric work) but we did it! Now on to our next project.... removing a huge planter from our back yard and extending the grass and sprinklers an extra 3 feet!
